Lately there has been a direct post to the emediablogger Twitter account about TweetBucks, which is an affiliate network enabling Twitter users to earn affiliate commissions with their posts. Now Adweek reports that PayPerPost is preparing to offer a feature, which will enable users to earn money by tweeting. PayPerPost is a blogvertising network, that facilitates advertising at blogs by sponsored blog posts.
And indeed there happens something at the PayPerPost homepage, which has launched a new version of the service called PayPerPost v 4.0. Opposite to this I wonder why AdWeek is calling the service "Izea, formerly called Pay Per Post", whereas there is the v 4.0 version.
In the following there is the complete AdWeek article:
Get Ready for Pay per Tweet
By the way. If you are in the information business and if you are able to deliver premium news, who may try TwitPub. TwitPub enables to create premium Twitter channels, which let users earn money by their tweets.

A Twitter integrated Pixel Advertising Page
Do you remember the good old days of pixel advertising, just a couple of years ago, when Alex Tew made one million dollar by the MillionDollarHomepage?
Now another project is placing Twitter avatars in a similar arrangement. Million Dollar Follow is working like a typical Twitter application. It is completely integrated and uses the Twitter account data to login. The site offers free advertising by placing an avatar in a grid. By clicking on the menu tab "Free Ad" one becomes redirected to a login page. After entering the data the avatar used at Twitter becomes automaticly placed on the grid and will refer to the own Twitter page.
Call it funny or useful, I thought about avatar advertising. The site even offers rewards. Members may win up to one million followers.
By the way, I gave the pixel advertising business a try, too. You may have a look at
MillionPixelMirror, which even has an own blog dedicated to pixel advertising. It is a vertical with photo and video adverts. If you are running a related site, give it a try. Advertising is free actually.

ffwd has launched a new Twitter Video Service
ffwd is a video destination with a lot of social networking features. Members may personalize and create own channels, search and share videos as well as getting recommendations. ffwd now has launched a new service called twitmatic. twitmatic is displaying up to date videos shared at Twitter and playing the videos within the site.
Actually the service is in beta and for sure there will come up further features. Wouldn't it be nice to personalize the service to get videos of interest? Tomorrow, 13th March, such thing happens. twitmatic will show videos from the SxSW media festival. As Twitter is fast some nice videos have to be expected. The internet address for this event is twitmatic.com/SxSW. For the schedule have a look at the SxSW homepage.
By the way, there is another Twitter video site. This is Twiddeo, which is both an aggregator and a tool to tweet videos.

Twitter Client and Social Network Aggregator
PeopleBrowsr is a comfortable new social network aggregator and twitter client. The online service enables to follow friends at various networks and to make posts from within the webapp. What makes it a comfortable tool is the ability to arrange groups of people or interests within customizable seperate windows and across various networks. By this one may arrange particular windows for particular purposes like events, news or friends.
Actually PeopleBrowsr is still in alpha but public. Login is most easy by using Twitter user data, just an email address needs to be supplied.

New Twitter Web Interface with Aggregation Functions
TweeTree is a nice new Twitter web interface, which integrates a couple of other social media services. The integration happens by displaying the content a link within a message is referring to. If a link refers to one of the integrated services, the linked message will be displayed. For example if someone links an image on Flickr or a video on YouTube, these media will be displayed within the tweet. This might be most useful to someone who is often sharing media on Twitter.

Advertising and Money with Twitter
Business Thursday: Twitter is the fastest growing social network as reported in September. Figures in September have been 400 % growth rate. Meanwhile I read that about 6 million users have been reached and found an interesting article lately about upcoming features and strategies to monetize the service. Advertising will not be an issue told Evan Williams, one of the founders. Monetization probably will happen by charging companies, who want to reach twitter users at the platform.
But one nice thing about Twitter is the openness of the services by its api and the possibility for third parties to develop services relying on the platform. By this at least two advertising services have become developed to earn money and to reach users by advertising, which are most different.
The newer advertising network is be a magpie. This ad network matches advertisers with users based on interests. At the adverts keywords are used within tweets to reach interested parties. Keywords may be found by the various Twitter services like search engines. Additionally tweets containing ad messages are marked with a #magpie hashtag. The earning is calculated by the general popularity of a topic and the numbers of followers. To join the be a magpie network one must submit the Twitter member name at the homepage at first. Then the amount of possible earnings becomes calculated and a sign up form appears.
The second advertising service network relying on Twitter is Twittad, which has already been mentioned at a former article about Twitter tools. Twittad offers advertising by uploading background graphics.

Twellow is a People and Profile Search for Twitter
Twellow is another interesting Twitter tool. It is a search engine for people and profiles. This might be important and useful, because Twitter is the fastest growing social network. A good reason to look for someone or something at Twitter is the presence of important people and services offering fast or even realtime information. Nice cases are updates and information about conferences or other events. Beside this it is a nice tool as people search is popular at all.

Dwigger is voting for Tweets
Dwigger is a new tool to vote and discuss posts submitted to Twitter, the Tweets. It is rather a service than a tool as Tweets need to become submitted to Dwigger. Nevertheless it is already a success as it is populated and by actually above 700 diggs a top story at Digg, where obviously not only the D is coming from. Members can submit their own or noteworthy posts by others to the service and start a conversation beyond the reply option offered by Twitter. Furthermore it might be another way to increase the reputation as Twitter profiles are integrated and to get new social networking contacts. Especially for the latter and for brief fast news I do appreciate Twitter myself (twitter.com/emediablogger).
What else Dwigger is offering are some integrated research tools to find country specific top stories and people. At Hit List there is a real time search to find up to date posts with a submission function.
As there are permanently new tools upcoming for Twitter here is a related source with a comprehensive coverage: EverythingTwitter.com

New Twitter Apps and Research Tools
Some new and great Twitter applications and tools have been introduced to ease the use, for marketing and researching the Twittersphere.
Phweet is for conferencing and to make phone calls using Twitter. It works with the original login data and by appointing a connection. To connect with someone a message will be sent with a special Phweet link. If the recipient accepts the call by clicking on this link, the session will start.
Tweetake is a service for data back up.
TwitStamp creates buttons with the title and link of the latest post and profile cards. These buttons may be used at other social media pages and websites.
twitterfeed.com is a tool to automaticly post newsfeed updates to twitter. To use twitterfeed.com an OpenID is needed.
twittad facilitates advertising at member profiles. Advertising prices start with under 1 dollar and are up to about 20 dollars, usual durance is from 7 days up to 1 month. Choosing adspace is conveniently done by a list. What is unusual is that the ads are pure display ads and not clickable.
monitter does real time research for customizable terms. A nice feature is to narrow the research locally by a box at the upper left. To follow posts about a particular term there are newsfeeds available and widgets.

Doing Research using Twitter
This is a follow up post to The Twitter Phenomenon and useful Tools. It is about researching Twitter and about doing research by using Twitter. With over one million users there is a remarkable user base, which is large enough to research buzz at the social media sphere. The term buzz describes hot topics and trends at the live and social web. This especially is due as the user base often is deeply connected with other social media services.
For buzz monitoring there are a couple of services ready to use. One service to do so is TwitScoop. The buzz is shown by a tag cloud and hot topics are listed at the side. To get information about a special topic there is a search function. With Twist there is a tool for trend research. It lists the number of post by a timeline and enables to compare subjects and topics.
Twitter is a micro blogging service. This limits a message or posting to 160 characters and links to further information and sources are most important. By this the same is due to measuring the number and the popularity of links. To do so there are TwitterBuzz and Twitturly.
Another very nice service to get an insight in what is important at local areas is Twitter Local. This service enables to find information posted about cities or geographic areas. A very useful tool for monitoring local issues is the feed generator offered, which enables everyone to receive a newsfeed just with relevant local posts.
Beside doing research about and on Twitter there is a service enabling own reseach and polls on Twitter. This is StrawPoll. You can see some results at the StrawPoll homepage. Current polls may become watch by the StrawPoll Blog.
Last but not least there is the statistics page at the official Twitter blog to see what is going on within the community. To have a look at the stats of a particular account you may use TweetStats.

The Twitter Phenomenon and useful Tools
You probably know Twitter. It is a micro blogging and social networking service launched in 2006. Now Twitter has above one million users as reported by Techcrunch. This makes the service interesting for various purposes. Networking at micro blogging services may happen on the web or by mobile messaging. This makes it a converged media between the internet and mobile communications. When Twitter started they had an interface with all messages shown up at their homepage. This interface is still available for members and looks like Twitter Spy. If you were not a member you may have wondered what happens and why people tell the world about what they are doing. This is still a phenomenon. But there is a clearer statement now at the homepage introducing Twitter as a tool to stay connected with people you know. And this is very useful, e.g. for conference updates and any other important things happen. Twitter is very fast. Some information about important occurances like the earthquake in china have been reported at Twitter first. If you want do know further basics, you may read the introduction to Twitter and introduction to micro blogging at Wikipedia.
There are a lot of useful tools available to get the most out of Twitter. To get up to date information there are bots, which do automaticly inform about particular topics. There are a couple of bots and applications available at ReTweet and by Twitter Apps at the official blog. Another way to find up to date information is by real time search like it is offered by Summize and Tweet Scan. Last but not least you may find information by tagging as it is supplied by Twemes.
If you are a member you may look for new friends with similar interests and follow their updates. To find people with particular interests you may use Caboose Twifter or the Calculate the Twitter Quotient tool. To find most active members there is TwitDir or Twitterholic. The Twitter Pack Project is about recommending members by their interests and profiles.
There will be a follow up to this posting related to market research. So keep in touch by the emediablogger newsfeed. Meanwhile you may find further information at the official Twitter Blog and at Twitter Facts.
